Are you ready to test how well you see your intentions?

The topics that I often blog about pertain to time management techniques, marketing strategies, and operational issues. However, a topic discussed today in my mastermind group that seemed to strike at the heart of many common business issues is The Big Assumption.

Most of us struggle with this topic. We say that we want to achieve a particular goal—increase sales, hire a new employee, etc.—but in reality our behavior and choices sometimes directly conflict with our articulated purpose.

Time Management Wrap Up

To ensure that you have the time to pursue the things that are most meaningful to you, consider the following:

1          You can use one of those big desk calendars, Outlook, a table in Word—whatever floats your boat. Just take a stab at outlining your activities and obligations throughout the month so it flows productively and profitably. It doesn’t have to be perfect, especially since it’ll change over time depending on where you’re at in life. But it definitely has to be realistic! This also is a great way to see whether you are over committed.

Time Management Survival, Part 2

Picking up where we left off last week, here are 3 more tips to help you manage your time:

#1   Reflect. Think about how you function during the course of the week, and schedule heavier and lighter days accordingly. Do you start the week strong, and then drag as the week progresses? Do you start slow and build up speed? Pair your appointments and tasks with the appropriate energy level. It makes a big difference.
